Show Us Your Moves: Jody Cosplays as Naoto from Persona 4!

Jody submitted an entry featuring her Naoto cosplay from Persona 4! She used our  Apollo Wig in Blue Black Fusion to complete her look! Check out her entry below!

[caption id="attachment_3876" align="aligncenter" width="200" caption="Our Apollo Wig in Blue Black Fusion"][/caption]

- What got you into cosplay?

I began cosplaying a few years ago, because I thought it looked like a lot of fun. I dragged a friend of mine to the Cherry Blossom festival in DC- it was a lot of fun, but looking back, my costume wasn’t very good at all. At least I know I’ve improved!

– How long have you been cosplaying?

I’ve been cosplaying since I was 13, three years ago. My first cosplay was Miki, one of Amu’s Guardian Characters, from Shugo Chara!

– Were there any particular reasons you selected this character?

My friend actually told me to cosplay Naoto because he thought I was a lot like her- he was right! I’ve always been angry when people underestimate my intelligence or strength just because I’m a girl, so I find a lot of opportunity in cosplaying as boys. When I realized that Naoto crossdressed so she could win the respect that she truly deserved, it really struck a chord with me. We also have a lot in common physically- masculine body shapes, for instance. We’re both also vertically challenged, and love the color blue, which made this cosplay fairly simple for me!

– What would you consider the most difficult part of this costume?

Definitely the jacket- especially the piping along the edges. I ended up having to sew and re-sew it several times before I got it the way that I liked! I’m a perfectionist that way. The buttons were also a pain to find.

– What cosplay would you like to do in the future?

Currently, I’m planning on cosplaying as Tomix the Soulweaver from DragonFable. I’ve already got the white wig (epiccosplay, of course. I actually bought it before the blue one!), but the leather longcoat should be a bit of a challenge, but I don’t think it’s anything I can’t handle.

– What’s your favorite part about cosplaying?

Definitely the joy of being recognized. I’ve walked around conventions and not been recognized by anyone at all- it really makes you feel like the cosplay wasn’t worth the time. When I cosplayed as Naoto, though, every few minutes another person was pulling me over to get a picture. That’s why it was one of my favorite cosplays to put together!

-What do you like about our wig?

Aside from the fact that it’s blue, and blue is awesome, I really like the way that people sometimes mistake it for my real hair (my hair, normally, is a very similar style- it’s just black). It’s also brushable, and essentially came in the right style already, save for a tiny bit I had to trim off in the front for Naoto’s slight forelock. It’s also washable, and doesn’t itch.

Overall, I’m really happy with the way that the cosplay came out, and it’s certainly one of the best that I’ve done so far. Naoto Shirogane is a wonderful as both a character and a role, and I’m glad that I had the chance to portray her through cosplay.

Show Us Your Moves: Anna/Seattle Cosplay as Wizard from Diablo 3!

Anna/Seattle Cosplay submitted an entry featuring her Wizard cosplay from Diablo 3! She opted to use our Nyx Wig in Black for her cosplay! Check out more pictures and her entry below!

[caption id="attachment_3869" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="Our Nyx Wig in Black!"][/caption]

Hi,

I was invited on facebook to enter this! I have used your awesome your Nyx - 28" black wig for my wizard cosplay.
Why’d you pick the costume you did?

I love this cosplay because it is the first one I really spend a lot of time doing research on. This is based on the Concept Art for the Diablo 3 Wizards. I was very unsure when I wanted to create a special cosplay for Pax Prime last year. I love video games, especially those with strong female characters, and had a few options to pick from. But when I saw the wizard concept art, I think I had an epiphany. Being fan of Diablo series, of course I would be the kick ass caster!! Why would I be anything else?! I also found the background story of the Wizard Li Ming intriguing -- her character, her arrogance, her power, and her beginning are just amazingly developed! It is with this state of mind that I pour my heart into creating every aspect of the costume.

The concept art does not have have a back view, and there is only one picture for my purpose. So I spend alot of time doing research on Chinese Tang Dynasty costumes.

My friend help me by making the awesome props - dragon stave and medallions.

This is the second wig I had used for this cosplay. The first was not very good as it has waxy fibers that were also coarse. So I when I had more time this second time around, I purchased this wig from your company. And It's lux hair and smooth texture gave my cosplay a total revamped look. The bands were amazing!!! as it framed my face perfectly.  Thank you for your consideration! and I look forward in purchasing more wigs for future projects!!

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Ashley cosplays as Paddra Nsu Yeul

Ashley of Orah's Cosplay sent us another submission with another EPIC cosplay! This time she sent us pictures and her submission of her Paddra Nsu Yeul cosplay! She utilized our Persephone Wig in Gunmetal Grey to achieve her look! Check out her pictures and story below!

Paddra Nsu Yeul cosplay final fantasy

I have gained permission to use these photos as long as they are not altered or its watermark removed.

Wig Used: 36" Gunmetal Grey Straight Long Cosplay Wig

Character: Paddra Nsu Yeul

Series: Final Fantasy XIII-2

Photographer: PhotoPersuasion

How wig was styled!

Sides where cut to frame the face. Then bangs parted in the middle, tucked behind ears and then secured with bobbin pins.

Hiya again! It is Orah's Cosplay! This time I am cosplaying Yeul from XIII-2!

I used EpicCosplay's 36" Gunmetal Grey Straight Long Cosplay Wig, because it was the prefect grey for the game references and it changed color in different lighting. I picked Yeul because I love native American/African inspired tribal wear and so Yeul was planned back in December of 2011. The hardest part of this cosplay was the endless fittings my friend had to do. (It is nearly impossible to fit yourself without help.) The top was made to fit to my curves exactly>< and painfully! D: THE PIN SCARS!! This cosplay was done over a span of four months! I have made everything by hand from the top to the shoes!

Why do I keep going back to EpicCosplay for my wigs? They are just beautiful! The quality is outstanding! My wigs hardly shed and I don't have to worry about them acting up or being evil. They are worth every penny, and I will continue to be a faithful returning customer!

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Ashley cosplays as Holo

Ashley (Orah's Cosplay) sent us an EPIC submission of her Holo cosplay from Spice and Wolf! She utilized our Athena wig in Cocoa Brown! Check out her pictures and stories below!

I have gained permission to submit this from the photographer as long as the watermark is not removed.

Wig used: 40" Cocoa Brown Curly Wavy Long Cosplay Wig

Character: Holo

Series: Spice and Wolf

Photographer: Angelwing

How wig was styled

I straightened it with a flat iron and then cut the bangs to frame my face.

(Article)

Hiya! My name is Ashley also known as Orah's Cosplay!

I am currently 17 and I am a USA cosplayer YAY!!!!

I recently got into cosplay one year ago because I fell in love with making costumes. I loved challenges and learning, and cosplaying was a prefect outlet for my artist needs. Holo is my sixth cosplay I have done, and one of my all time favorites. My favorite part about cosplaying is making new friends! I love meeting new people and seeing how they made there cosplay.

I used a 40" Cocoa Brown Curly wig. It was the only wig that I could find that was prefect for her brown/slight orange hair color. I then straightened it out with a straightener and cut the bangs slowly so that they would hit right under my eyebrow. It loved that the wig was layered because it made it all the more easier to brush it out in-between photos.

I came to cosplay Holo because a friend really wanted me to! So this complete cosplay from head to toe was made in 2 weeks! I love Holo's personality so it was rather easy for me to cosplay her and be in character. Plus it was super comfy in 110+ weather in Texas. Even though I was drenched in sweat by the end of the day! The most difficult part of this cosplay was finding the right shoes to go with it. I was lucky enough to find a exact pair of her's at salvation army!

There are MANY wonderful things about EpicCosplay Wigs. I personally love them for making there wigs easy to brush through and thick! I also love how I can apply a straightener and it doesn't melt the fibers.

Show Us Your Moves Submission: theelfinartist as Mai!

Hey EpicCosplay fans! theelfinartist sends us an EPIC story about how she and her family turned cosplay into a family activity! In this submission she covers how she got started with cosplay and discusses how she styled our 37" black spiky wig and black extensions to create the look she needed for the cosplay! Check out pictures of her and the wig as well as the story below!

I have permission to use these photos from both the photographer and fellow cosplayer.

Hey there! When in cosplay I usually go by theelfinartist. :)

I've been cosplaying since late 2008 and have been loving it ever since. Cosplay was something I stumbled upon one day as I was searching for fanart for one of my favorite video games. haha. I'm a very creative and artistic person and had recently begun teaching myself to sew. I thought the idea of bringing your favorite cartoon/manga/anime/character to life through the creative process of making costumes was just AMAZING. I immediately fell in love with the idea and began my search for fabric and wigs.

Since then I've actually drawn my whole family into the activity of cosplaying! When I brought my mother to my first convention in 2009, she was amazed by the great mass of cosplayers. Though first a bit wary, she soon warmed up to the idea and told me how impressed she was with everyone's creativity and dedication to the art following it with, "Next convention I am NOT going to be the only one out of costume" And thus begun our family cosplay activity. The first con we've all cosplayed to together was in 2010 and we've been going strong since. :)

The reason I chose Mai to cosplay (in these pictures) was because I was recently given the great opportunity to visit a dear friend of mine who lives several states away from me. She too has caught the "cosplay-bug" and loves portraying our favorite characters. The week before my arrival we decided we needed a new costume do a photoshoot for since we would have access to a beautiful beach. I suggested Mai and Zuko in their outfits from the "Ember Island" episode of the Avatar the Last Airbender for two reasons. One, Zuko and Mai are characters that hold a close part to us in our hearts; we love their relationship and roles they play in the cartoon. (plus I've always wanted to cosplay Mai) Two, because the beach outfits were quite simple and definitely something we could pull together in a few days.

I'd say the most difficult part of this costume was the wig, although that even turned out easier that I had expected. I used a 39" Black Spiky Long Cosplay wig (and black extensions) for Mai and was a bit nervous when I received it. However, I carried on with my plan to use the spiky layered top of the wig  to "poof" out so the wig would have that nice, polished, round look that Mai has. I used Extensions to form small balls of hair with quilt batting in the center to add volume for the two small buns on top the wig and the one large on in back.

I love how thick the Epic Cosplay wigs are. They allow me to style wigs in such strange and unique fashions that wouldn't even be fathomable using thinner ones.

I'm a cosplayer from California, USA, and have been cosplaying since 1999.  I have been a gamer all my life and started watching anime as a young teen.  I have always liked dressing up too, so when I learned about cosplay and conventions, I knew immediately that I wanted to take part in the fun.  These days I am probably best known for my Chihaya cosplay from THE IDOLM@STER.  To me, THE IDOLM@STER is a cosplay girl's dream -- more than a dozen cute idol girls to suit all personalities plus endless supplies of songs to learn and outfits to make.  When I started cosplaying as Chihaya no one knew the game, but it has been rewarding over the years watching the fandom grow and having more and more people recognize my cosplay, especially after the release of the IDOLM@STER anime.

I run the cosplay dance group Angel Hearts, known throughout California for our IDOLM@STER performances.  Recently we won Best in Show at AniMegaCon with our light-up Starry outfits, which I programmed and designed the circuits for.  These costumes took months of grueling hard work and a lot of problem solving, but we worked together and I am so proud of my girls!  The moment you are standing on stage shining in front of everyone makes everything worth it.

Our group does more and more shows every year, and though the costume may be different I am always wearing the same wig!  As my signature cosplay, one I wear often and have to dance half hour shows in, I need a high quality wig that will last through all the abuse and still look good.  I was never happy with my Chihaya wig until I discovered EpicCosplay Wigs.  The fibers are so silky!  No matter how much I mess it up I can easily brush it out, and it looks good as new!  It doesn't tangle up as much when I'm on stage, and I can easily fix it up afterwards.  In addition, I am a huge fan of the center-part skin top wigs, which are so hard to find these days.  With so many colors to choose from, I would definitely recommend Epic Cosplay Wigs to anyone looking for a good wig.

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Megan as Luka!

We've got an adorable new Show Us Your Moves Submission from the lovely Megan in her Luka Megurine cosplay from Vocaloid! She utilized our Persephone wig in Princess Dark Pink to complete her look! Check out pictures and her story below!

luka vocaloid cosplay

Hello everyone! My name is Megan, and I am a spunky, goofy 16-year-old

I believe the wig I am wearing for this character is: http://www.epiccosplay.com/36-princess-dark-pink-straight-long-cosplay-wig.html

The character I am cosplaying as is Megurine Luka from Vocaloid

-What got you into Cosplay?

There isn’t just one thing that got me into Cosplay. In fact, there are many. One of the biggest ones is my best friend Kaitlyn. Although I have been into it a bit before I met her, she really got me into it. Before I met her, I didn’t have any Cosplay buddies, so I didn’t Cosplay too much, nor did I have the desire to. But once I met Kaitlyn in 9th grade, I began to get extremely into Cosplay. Almost everything I do that is Cosplay-related, I do with her. We go to gatherings together all the time, and ever since last year we have begun to go to Anime Banzai together (which is where we first met).

-What made you decide to Cosplay this character?

Well the answer to that question is rather simple. I was at my annual convention called Anime Banzai two years ago. I had already been thinking of characters I wanted to do for the upcoming year, but I wasn’t really sure, until I approached the EpicCosplay booth. Previously I had not had any good experiences with wigs, and was hesistant to buy another one. But when I saw the wigs they had at the booth, I began to reconsider. They all looked so amazing to me, but the one that stood out the most was the extra long pink wig. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I was going to do Megurine Luka without a doubt.

Years later, the wig has still served its purpose, and surprisingly has not died on me yet considering how much it’s gone through.

-What would you consider the most difficult part of this costume?

Haha, honestly, I think the most difficult part of this costume is wearing it. When I say that, I just mean that, for me, it is not always the most flattering thing to wear. I definitely have to have a lot of guts to wear it. But I love it anyway, and I love cosplaying that particular character, so I wear it anyway. But, although I don’t always agree with the costume, I still adore wearing the wig. I think if I could, I would have long pink hair just like that. That would be lots of fun.

-How long have you been cosplaying?

Officially, I have been cosplaying since I was in 8th grade. For my birthday, which is in the summer, my mom had gotten me a ticket to Banzai, and ever since then, I have been cosplaying a ton. So, it’s basically been 4 years since I started, and I continue to do it more and more, even though I am almost a senior in college.

-What is your favorite part about cosplaying?

There are two things I enjoy greatly about cosplaying. The first one is the people I get to meet. I always enjoy how friendly everyone is, and Cosplay is a great way to meet someone new. For example, when you see someone dressed up as a character from an anime you absolutely adore, you usually run up to them and want their picture, or begin talking to them. Knowing that you have something in common with them is a great way to start a conversation and get to know them.

The second thing I love about Cosplay is the fun of becoming a completely different person. Not only in looks, but also in personality. It is fun and goofy to act like a specific character. I always end up choosing characters that are kind of sexy and flirty, such as Luka. Sometimes I find it hard to believe when I look in the mirror and see someone who looks completely different, but is still me. It just amazes me, in a good way of course.

-What Cosplay would you like to do in the future?

Oh my, there are so many to choose from. There are many cosplays I would love to do in the future, so I will name a few. I am currently working on Lady Ciel from Black Butler, which I am almost done with. I plan to wear this one to AX at the end of June.

I am planning on doing a different version of Alois Trancy, possibly his Alois in Wonderland. I love this outfit because I think it’s adorable, and I absolutely love Alois as a character.

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Mew Cookie cosplays as Tsumugi

We recently got an Epic Cosplay commission from Mew Cookie cosplaying as Tsumugi "Mugi" Kotobuki from K-On! She utilized our Hera wig in Caramel Blonde to complete her beautiful costume. Check out pictures of her, the wig, and her story below!

tsumugi kotobuki k-on cosplay

Cosplayer name: Mew Cookie (http://oomewcookieoo.deviantart.com)
Character: Tsumugi "Mugi" Kotobuki
Series: K-On!
Photographer: Zandra Murray (http://zandramurray.tumblr.com) - I have
her full permission to use these photos however I please!

Wig used was a Hera in Caramel Blonde. I trimmed the bangs just like Mugi's and coated the tip with hair gel to make sure it stays in place.

I've loved fashion and dressing up ever since I was little, and an obsession with anime soon followed. Then I found out on the internet that people dress up as their favourite characters at anime and sci-fi conventions year-round, and I was like, "For real?! That's my calling!" So I made my first cosplay for Anime North 2011. I'm still kind of a newbie at this, but I hope to keep improving little by little with each costume. :)

K-On! is one of my favourite anime series, and I connected most with Mugi's character; we're both a little eccentric and love to drink tea! Surprisingly, drawing on Mugi's uniquely-shaped eyebrows was the hardest part of this costume - it takes me up to 20 minutes every time I wear it. I have to seal part of my eyebrows with glue and then cover with concealer to shorten them. After that, it's slowly building up fake eyebrows with eyeshadow and powdering to lighten them up until they look perfect. Then, ta-da! Short, thick Mugi brows. It's important that I put a lot of time and care into my silly eyebrows
because they're a standout characteristic of Mugi's.

I love cosplay because I can instantly connect with somebody else who appreciates the character I chose to recreate. When you step into a con and see a cosplay of a character you love, it's an exciting feeling, and I'm happy when I can give somebody else that feeling.
It's a great way to make friends! I have a lot of cosplays I'm considering for the future, but one I'm particularly looking forward to is Madoka Kaname from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. That anime touched my heart.

I've used an Epic Cosplay wig for a previous costume and I came back for more! I love how thick and soft they are. Though any long wig tangles over the course of the day, compared to other wig brands, Epic wigs don't tangle nearly as much, and they brush out silky-smooth every time. I even went to a con rave in this wig and by the time I finished combing, it was as good as new! I've convinced my friends to start buying these wigs as well. Epic Cosplay is definitely one of my top picks for choosing a cosplay wig!

Thanks for your time,
Christine (AKA Mew Cookie)

Show Us Your Moves Submission: OwlDepot cosplays as Phantom Miria

We recently received an EPIC show us your moves submission from OwlDepot! She created her beautiful Phantom Miria cosplay from the Claymore series and used our Aphrodite wig in Natural Blonde as a base wig to achieve her look. She added some wefts to the wig so she could pull it up into the ponytail she needed. Check out pictures and her story below!

maria claymore cosplay

Character: Phantom Miria
Series: Claymore

Photography by: Joseph Chi Lin , Cosplay Photographers, Muze

I have always had an interest in anime and manga since high school, but didn't try to pursue actually cosplaying until 2007. I was fascinated by the fact people would run around costumed as their favorite characters at a convention. So I decided to give it a try as well, and loved it. I've made a lot of friends and learned a lot of things through this hobby. Most of my costumes are self made and I take great joy in completing a costume. Often, I do multiple versions of a character I really like.

A lot of people recommended Claymore to me over the years before I actually gave it a chance. I watched the anime first and grew to like it, minus the shoddy way they ended it. Not satisfied with the anime ending, I picked up the manga and was hooked. I love most of the main cast, but Phantom Miria was one of my more favorites. When I entered into the time skip, I really loved their Seven Ghosts outfits and collaborated with my friend Zalora Silver to be my Clare. Two Claymores are better than one. We shared supplies and fabrics to make sure our outfits matched, Zalora made both our Claymores herself! I would have to say the most difficult part of this costume was the boot covers. I started the base with black slip-on shoes and used e6000 to attach my spandex boot cover to the shoe. The snag I ran into, was making sure the belts around the thigh didn't move around. I ended up having to sew them onto the boot cover, so the belts wouldn't shift around.

I had a really hard time finding a wig that had a middle part, which is one of the key features of Miria's hairstyle. Most people part normal wigs, but I really wanted a more natural looking part as opposed to seeing crimped hair and wefts. I used Epic Cosplay's 15" Midpart wig in Natural Blonde, because it was pretty much perfect for the character! Perfect color, perfect parting in the middle, and my friend who did Clare with me was able to use another one of Epic Cosplay's wigs to match mine. I added some extra wefts to the nape so I could pull the wig into a ponytail and added wefts to the side fringe areas for more volume since Miria's hair is layered all over. It's nice to have color matching wefts readily available. I own quite a few wigs from Epic Cosplay, mostly because I like the fiber quality and the fact that the wigs are a perfect fit for my head. Neither too big or too small!

Show Us How You Style Submission: Human Sushi Cosplay (Part 3). Tasuki from Fushigi Yuugi

In our final entry of the Human Sushi Cosplay Fushigi Yuugi series we feature the Tasuki cosplay from their group! They used our Chronos Wig in Autumn Orange to and styled it to achieve the perfect look for this cosplay! Read on to see pictures and discover what they did to style this wig to make it look exactly like how they needed it to!

Tasuki from Fushigi Yuugi –

WIG: 14" Long Bang Autumn Orange Layered Cosplay Wig

Styling time: 1 hour

Styling notes: Pretty much just looked in a mirror and started chopping big chunks then refined with more precise angled cuts to create the spikes. Used Abby's head while I cut the back to create the rockin’ mullet. Used GOT 2 B hair glue and spray for solid hold.

Personal thoughts: The wig was fantastic! Really thick and vibrant. I loved the color, it really brought the costume together. And the wig cap was just the right size, not too big or too small, I hardly needed any pins to keep it on! :)

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Meagan cosplays as Morrigan

Meagan sent us an EPIC submission of her Morrigan cosplay from Dragon Age: Origins! She utilized our Theia wig in black to complete her look! Read on to see pictures and her awesome story!

Character: Morrigan from Dragon Age: Origins
Wig Used: Theia 20" Black Straight Long Wig (I think - I bought it at
a Convention a few years ago)

About the Cosplay:
-Basic About:
This is actually my first REAL cosplay.  The skirt is a converted granny pencil skirt I found at Goodwill (for, like $4.00), and the top was a self made pattern with a whole lot of trial and error.  My husband actually started to tease me because I was so hung up on getting fabric that was both the right color AND texture.  Many of the beads on the top were handmade and hand painted.  A lovely friend made the base for my shoulder piece using paper mache and I finished it with paper clay, some paint and feathers. My staff was found one day when I was visiting my sister, in her back yard.  My brother-in-law got me a hand-saw and I cut it to the length I wanted.  I then sanded some spots on it, for effect as well as to get rid of some of the lichen living on it.  Then I wrapped the upper part with leather string and added in some black feathers to help tie it back to my costume. This costume actually won Warden's Choice in the Bioware 2011 Youtube Costume Contest.

-How Long/What Got You Into Cosplay:
I got into cosplay a little over 2 years ago when some friends asked my Husband and I to tag along to Anime Central with them, this is actually the costume I put together to go.  I'm rather shy, but love having my picture taken, so cosplay works out pretty well for me!

-Why This Character:
At the time our friends asked us to go to Anime Central, I was playing Dragon Age: Origins.  While Morrigan wasn't necessarily my favorite character, I was intrigued by her and found her character design to be quite lovely.  Also, having not done any serious cosplay before, I
wanted something that seemed a little simpler (spoilers, it actually wasn't).  It was fun to cosplay because, even though her personality is essentially the opposite of mine, once in costume it was no problem to maintain character.

-Most Difficult Aspect:
By far, the top was the most difficult.  It took me a few days and several pattern drafts until I could get it to sit right.  This was especially important, since I was doing the in-game Morrigan instead of the concept art one and wasn't going to have a bikini top underneath.  The strings had to be replaced a few times, and there are a few hidden support strings to help hold everything where it needs to be.  All of this was 100% trial and error.

-Future Planned Cosplays:
Merrill from Dragon Age 2; Tali'Zorah from the Mass Effect Series; Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time; Lilith, Maya or Gaige from the Borderlands Series (maybe all three); Trance Kuja from Final Fantasy IX

-What I Love About This Wig:
This wig is so easy to style!  The first few times I had some trouble, due to this being the first wig I'd used and the texture, but now it's simple.  I even keep this wig stored in it's bag and style it into the bun when I'm wearing it.  Super simple, and super easy.  I  completely love this wig

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Meagan cosplays as Anya

Meagan sent another amazing Show Us Your Moves Submission! This time she sent us her Anya Stroud cosplay from Gears of War 3! She utilized our Chronos wig in natural blonde to complete her look. Check out pictures and her story below!

Anya stroud cosplay

Character: Anya Stroud from Gears of War 3
Wig Used: Lelouch Style Short Cosplay Wig in Natural Blonde

About the Cosplay:
-Basic About:
All of the armor pieces are handmade from EVA foam floor mats and lit with various types of LED string lights on battery packs.  Any screws on the armor are actual 1/4"inch screws and bolts.  The boots alone (which are unfortunately not pictured) had at least 75 screws, each. Pants, COG tags and tank shirt were purchased, however the shirt was customized (hand dyed the appropriate color and then iron-on letters applied). The Lancer Assault Riffle is a converted NERF Stampede.  I decided to do this instead of purchasing a replica Lancer for two reasons 1-Cost, and 2-I'm very short and those replica Lancers look very cartoon-ish next to me.

-How Long/What Got You Into Cosplay:
I got into cosplay a little over 2 years ago when some friends asked my Husband and I to tag along to Anime Central with them.  I'm rather shy, but love having my picture taken, so cosplay works out pretty well for me!

-Why This Character:
The Gears of War series is one of my biggest fandoms and Anya Stroud has long been one of my favorite characters.  Always supporting Delta through everything and being generally amazing in the books.  When Gears of War 3 came out and they gave Anya armor and a Lancer, I was thrilled.  They changed Anya from someone behind the scenes to someone that was essential to the action.  I loved it and I needed to cosplay
her!

-Most Difficult Aspect:
This was my first foray into Dremel sculpting EVA foam floor mats into armor pieces.  It was a time consuming experience, all in all it took about 4 or 5 months to complete.  There was a lot of trial and error involved, though I found some baseline information on how to do
it by browsing forums.  My method for putting the chest piece together, alone, got scrapped 3 times.  However, I was thrilled to finish it and am pleased to have foam armor sculpting in my repertoire of costume-making skills.

I loved, with this particular one, that the cut was perfect for Anya. I had very little styling to do, and it mostly revolved around pinning the fringe with bobby pins so the wig would hold out of my face correctly.

Show Us Your Moves: Orah's Cosplay Cosplays as Rikku!

Orah's Cosplay submitted a Show Us Your Moves submission of her sister cosplaying as Rikku from Final Fantasy X! To get Rikku's hairstyle she styled our Dione Wig in Natural Blonde! Check out her entry below!

[caption id="attachment_3846" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="Our Dione Wig in Natural Blonde"][/caption]

Character: Rikku

Series: Final Fantasy X

Wig used: Dione- 22" Natural Blonde Curly Midpart Cosplay Wig

How this wig was styled

A lot of work went into this baby. First step was straightening out the curls, and then I stretch the wig as far as it would go on a foam head. I flipped the wig to the side using a wig grip and pulled it into a high pony tail. I slightly layered the ends and parted some of the hair so that I could put it into two braids in the back. I then cut the sides to make bangs and sprayed the whole thing with hair spray. The midpart actually was what I needed and made this wig look more natural!

My little sister loves cosplaying Rikku and she has such a fun time being her. My little sister has only been cosplaying for a year now and will start sewing her own outfits soon!

I really love EpicCosplay's midpart wigs for there use in creating a more natural look. This wig was so thick that I didn't even have to add in extensions which was a huge plus.

Thanks EpicCosplay for another wonderful wig!

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Denise as Michiru

Denise has sent us a submission of Michiru from Sailor Moon!  For this cosplay she used our Hestia wig in classic green to help enhance her costume.  Check out below for her cosplays as well as some more info about herself and her design.

- What got you into cosplay?

It was Otakon!  I went in 2005 and EVERYONE was cosplaying!  I thought that's what you were supposed to do, otherwise you weren't really a part of it.

- How long have you been cosplaying?

Since 2007!  So five years now!

- Were there any particular reasons you selected this character?

My best friend and I always cosplay together!  And we both love sailor moon more than anything.  But we chose these two characters because they were our polar opposites!

-What would you consider the most difficult part of this costume?

Embodying a princess.  The outfit was a super comfortable but being Michiru was very difficult.  I'm a tomboy so acting like a lady was the hardest part.

- What cosplay would you like to do in the future?

Miaka from Fushigi Yugi!  The first anime I ever watched was Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball.  But Fushigi Yugi was the first anime I picked up from the store and completely fell in love with!

-What's your favorite part about cosplaying?

Bringing the character to life!  It's amazing what fabric, contacts, wigs, and just makeup can change you into someone you admire, loved or even can't stand!

-What do you like about our wig?

The Hestia is super comfortable which surprised me.  Normally curly wigs and myself get wild and crazy!  But this one stayed almost perfect the entire time which was great.  And one thing I LOVE about all of your wigs is how SOFT they are!

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Miranda cosplays as Chibitalia!

Miranda sent us a submission of her Chibitalia cosplay from Hetalia! She utilized our Chronos wig in Copper Red to finish off the look that she needed for this costume. Check out pictures and her awesome story below!

- What got you into cosplay?
I think I was browsing the Internet, looking for Death Note fan-art. I kept stumbling across photos of people dressed up in costumes to resemble the characters. At the time, I had no idea what cosplay was, so I was intrigued by all of those pictures. I ended up doing some research, and discovered cosplay.

– How long have you been cosplaying?
I was a junior in high school when I cosplayed for the first time (I somewhat cringe, since my first cosplay was a badly done L cosplay), so...I think it's been at least five years. I was mainly only piecing together cosplays with things I had in my room. It wasn't until Anime Central 2010 that I actually bought a wig and altered a bathrobe to put together an Edward Elric cosplay.

– Were there any particular reasons you selected this character?
I love Hetalia, and Chibitalia was one of the first characters I fell in love with. Not to mention, he's such a fun character to play simply for the fact that he's a chibi version of Italy. I naturally gravitate toward chibi characters. Not to mention, he's in an interesting situation when he's Chibitalia: he's a boy...mistaken for a girl and is dressed like a maid in Austria's house. *laughing*

– What would you consider the most difficult part of this costume?
Honestly? This cosplay was bought, but the difficult part was being able to fit it to my size. I'm a plus-size cosplayer, and this cosplay was definitely NOT the first choice for plus-size girls. The dress is a little snug in spots, but the apron was the worst. The way to attach it around your waist was originally velcro, but with how big I am/how short the material was, I couldn't fasten it. I asked a friend of mine to alter it to where it's able to be tied back, so that helped a lot!

– What cosplay would you like to do in the future?
I have so many on my list of dream cosplays, but I think the one I would LOVE to do in the future is the Red Skull from Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories. The first time I completed the game, my favorite character was the Red Skull that was in my party. Not to mention I have a thing for costumes with flowy capes and things like that. *laughing again*

– What’s your favorite part about cosplaying?
Being able to become my favorite characters for that time period. It's one thing to write fanfiction to honor your favorite characters, but wouldn't you rather have more fun dressing up as those characters? It lets me feel like a little kid again, and I absolutely love it. There's a quote I saw online, and I keep it with me now: "Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional."

-What do you like about our wig?

The wigs I've gotten from Epic Cosplay have got to be the finest quality wigs I've ever used. They feel and look so much like real hair, and for the most part, they're so easy to care for! I've received so many compliments on the wigs I used from your site, and I can't help but agree with them. The wig I used for my Chibitalia cosplay was the Chronos 14" Copper Red Short Cosplay Wig. I've bought three other wigs for myself (Apollo Spiky Layered Black Short Cosplay Wig, Chronos 14" Honey Blonde Short Cosplay Wig, and Theia 20" Copper Red Long Straight Cosplay Wig), and my friend has bought two wigs as well (Chronos 14" Classic White Short Cosplay Wig and Apollo Spiky Layered Silver Short Cosplay Wig). We're so happy with our wigs that we recommend your site to everyone that asks us about our wigs.

Wig Used: 40” Forest Green Persephone Wig

Character: Sailor Pluto

Costume made by: Monochrome Tea

Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/MonochromeTea

Series: Sailor Moon

Photographer: BlizzardTerrak Photography, and Marygail Kristen

Sailor Pluto is one of my favorite sailor scouts. She is such a beautiful and elegant character in the series, a strong warrior with the duty to protect time and maintain its order. It was a no brainer for me that I had to cosplay her. She was my first cosplay choice to do. I had cosplayed once when I was 16, but I didn’t get back into it until I was about 20. My first Sailor Pluto cosplay and wig were both bought from eBay. The costume was horrid, the wig was the wrong green, but I still had fun. As I got more involved with the cosplay community, I was invited into a group of cosplayers by a dear friend. They were in need of a Princess Serenity for their Sailor Moon skit, and I happily offered to take up that request. It was from that moment that I decided I wanted to fully immerse myself into cosplay, and craft my own costumes. Some members of the group wanted to do another Sailor Moon skit for the next con, so I decided to finally make my very own Sailor Pluto uniform. It was the first time I had taken on a costume all by myself. I was sort of stubborn then, and wanted to do everything myself. I didn’t want to bother my friends and ask them for help 24/7. The end result was… okay. I wasn’t happy with the way the uniform turned out, but I certainly did learn a lot from that project!

That was not the end of my Sailor Pluto costume. I got to fix it up and completely revamp it for Fanime 2012. This time, I made sure to get help from my friend. My Sailor Moon group followed this tutorial < http://risingnewmoonstudios.blogspot.com/2012/03/sailor-senshi-uniform-tutorial-part-1.html > to make our sailor fukus. We all pretty much followed it exactly. The only difference being that we all wanted to change up our skirts. For my Sailor Pluto cosplay, I decided to do a sheer fabric over skirt with sparkles in it from the Casa Collection at Joanns. It really gave my costume a unique twist to the sailor fukus. It reminds me of the night sky when you look up and see stars twinkling back at you. We wore our costumes on Sunday at Fanime 2012 and performed in the masquerade. Our skit won the Judges Award for Best Performance. It was a wonderful honor to receive, since most of us had only performed at SacAnime’s masquerade.

For my Sailor Pluto wig, I decided to turn to EpicCosplay. I had heard so many good things about their wigs. The wefts were thick, they fit your head, they didn’t tangle easily, were easy to take care of, and the shipping was speedy. I looked at their great array of greens and found two colors I liked. It was the forest green and pine green. I had originally wanted the pine green, but it did not come in the length I needed. I ended up getting the forest green. When I received my package, I instantly fell in love with the wig. It was so soft, and the color was gorgeous! Even though it wasn’t the color I originally wanted, it looked perfect with my Sailor Pluto cosplay. Luckily for a wig newbie like me, I did not have to do much styling to it. No crazy spikes, or gravity defying pig tails for this young lady. I had a friend cut the bangs shorter for me, and I styled the bun in the back. I just put up the bun how I would with my own hair. I took two piece

Hello would like to enter! I have permission from the photographer!
http://www.facebook.com/KyleFergusonPhotography
More photos and info can be found here! http://www.cosplay.com/costume/392695/

– Cosplay Name
I go by Limitless Disguise, as well I can cosplay(disguise) myself as any character I want!

– What got you into cosplay?
I just love to dress up as something I like. It's really fun.

– How long have you been cosplaying?
I have been doing it for about 8 years, but have been more "serious" about it in the last 2 years.

– Were there any particular reasons you selected this character?
I liked the character, and it may be simple but she's really fun to cosplay.

– What would you consider the most difficult part of this costume?
The invisible zipper! Because I hate them and it was my first one I ever put in.

– What do you like about our wig?
I love the smoothness of them! They are so silky and nice. Easy to untangle, which is great for long wigs!

– What wig did you use for your costume?
I used the 26" in Cherry pink, which is really nice for Lucy. I see soooo many people with the wrong color and it completely ruins the cosplay.

– What cosplay would you like to do in the future?
Oh man there are so many on my list! Currently, Rider from Fate/Stay Night is on my to do list as well as some others.

– What’s your favorite part about cosplaying?
Everything! I love it when people like my cosplays and compliment them. I work really hard on all my costumes and when people see that it makes me all giddy. Especially when people stop me for photos, cause then I know I did a good job.

I look forward to your reply and more interview questions! Thank you!

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Tina as Ramona!

Tina sent us her Ramona Flowers cosplay for our Show Us Your Moves contest! She's a new cosplayer looking to delve further into the wonderful world of cosplay! She utilized our Chronos wig in fuchsia purple as a base and styled it a bit to achieve the look that she was looking for. Look below for pictures and her story below!

ramona flowers scott pilgrim

Hello,
I'd like to submit my photo for the gift certificate contest. I am a  very new cosplayer. I started in 2011 when my friends as me to join their already existing Steampunk X-men group at Dragon*Con. They had won Best in Show the year before but wanted a really big group for the 2011 parade. I picked Jubilee because without a wig, I already look like her. It's one of my favorite cosplays. It really came together well, but I was always afraid to try wigs. I decided to try a wig for the first time to cosplay Rose Tyler with a friend. I hand dyed the roots of that blonde wig myself. What was I thinking?! It looks great though. I also cosplay Amy Pond.

For this submission, I chose to cosplay Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World comic book series. This is my very first attempt at any cutting or styling of a wig. I did this just as a Halloween costume for parties in the area, not conventions or anything. I just didn't want to pull out a cosplay I had already done. I owed nearly everything already except the purse, which was handmade (not by me). I purchased the Chronos 14" wig in Fuschia Purple because it was the closest to the shape that I wanted for this hairstyle. I cut the bangs into the wig and kept 2 longer straightened pieces to frame the face. In the back I pinned up the top layers of hair and used foam curlers to create volume throughout. I used my fingers to loosen the curls and let the top layer fall straight down while hairspraying it. It created a nice full look without looking curled. I wore this wig to 3 parties in 2 days and then again 3 days later on Halloween without restyling and it held up the entire time. Since I was cosplaying Ramona, I switched up the clothing a bit each time I wore it. I decided to make this costume part of my regular convention rotation since it was such a huge hit. I wore the costume to a local drag club on Halloween and some of my favorite Drag Queens told me how impressed they were with the wig styling and they loved how it looked on me. I can't wait to purchase Ramona's other colors so that I can really cosplay her to the fullest. The wig was by far the hardest part for me, but it was so fun to work with. This is my first Epic Cosplay wig and I love how great it fit my head, which is pretty small. The hair feels so nice and doesn't have a weird wig smell. I learned about your site from Lizzy during her panel at Costume Con. Her tutorials were great also. I'm so proud of how this entire look came together. Thank you so much.

Sincerely,
Tina Worley

Show Us Your Moves Submission: Alyssa cosplays as White Len

Here we have another submission, this time it's Alyssa as White Len from Melty Blood!  She used our Dione wig in Classic White to really bring her design together!

- What got you into cosplay?

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always been trying to dress up like the characters on TV.  I remember running around as a little girl in a skirt and white shirt with a hairbow attached, convinced I could be a sailor scout from Sailor Moon.  It's served as an escape when things were tough.  Who doesn't want to dress up as some sort of superhero or cartoon character when nothing seems to be going right?

- How long have you been cosplaying?

I really got serious about cosplaying about six years ago.  I didn't publicly debut a costume until Anime Weekend Atlanta 2009 though.

- Were there any particular reasons you selected this character?

She's a succubus full of icy goodness!  I think she's really cute.  Someone wanted me to cosplay her but I never cosplay characters I don't actually feel some sort of emotional character to.  I really wanted to surprise this person, so I went and played the game and was instantly attached.  It's good that they had such a great taste in characters!

- What would you consider the most difficult part of this costume?

The dress part.  I had a two week deadline to make the costume.  The first dress I made for her just didn't feel right, so I scrapped it completely and made an entirely new dress altogether.  I don't work with patterns, so I had to eyeball it all, but in the end I love how it came out.

- What cosplay would you like to do in the future?

I'm really looking forward to cosplaying my Guild Wars 2 character.  I've already ordered the wig for it, and of course it's from you guys!  (Hestia in Silvery White)

- What's your favorite part about cosplaying?

Meeting up with my friends and taking pictures together.  It's a lot of fun when you have someone to cosplay with.  When a convention rolls around, my friends and I try to plan our costumes around each other so we can hang out as a group all day.  When we pose for pictures, the ideas are endless between us!

What do you like about our wig?

It's really really soft.  I wish my real hair was this soft!!!  The color of it just barely off white, which makes it seem a lot more realistic, especially in photographs and you can easily style it.  I also love the way the ends just barely curl, it's really cute!
